How Smolde collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the site, submit a pilot intake, or send us change logs and policy materials.

Effective date: April 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Smolde collects, uses, and discloses information when you visit smolde.com, submit a pilot intake, share policy materials, log product changes, or otherwise communicate with us about the service.

Smolde is an informational compliance monitoring product for SaaS and AI teams. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Contact and company details, such as your name, work email, company name, and product URL.
  • Submission materials, such as your product description, vendor list, policy text, uploaded documents, and related intake answers.
  • Change-log information, such as the updates you report after submission.
  • Communications, including emails you send us and responses we send back about pilot fit, findings, or follow-up.
  • Technical and usage information, such as server logs, browser information, IP address, and similar operational metadata generated when you use the site.

How We Use Information

We use information we collect to:

  • operate, secure, and improve the Smolde site and pilot workflow;
  • review pilot applications and decide pilot fit;
  • generate baseline reviews and related findings;
  • send confirmation emails, internal alerts, and pilot follow-ups;
  • respond to questions, support requests, and other communications;
  • comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.

AI Processing and Service Providers

Smolde uses third-party infrastructure and software providers to run the service, including providers for hosting, database storage, email delivery, and AI-assisted review generation.

If you submit a product description, policy text, or related materials, that information may be processed by our AI review providers solely to generate output for Smolde. We also use service providers to store submissions and send email communications on our behalf.

How We Share Information

We may disclose information:

  • to service providers that help us operate Smolde on our behalf;
  • if required by law, regulation, subpoena, or other legal process;
  • to protect the rights, safety, and security of Smolde, our users, or others;
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business.

We do not publish your submission materials publicly as part of the normal product flow.

Legal Bases

Where applicable, we process information based on one or more of the following legal bases: to perform requested services, to communicate with you before or during a pilot, to pursue legitimate interests in operating and improving Smolde, and to comply with law.

Data Retention

We retain submission materials, change logs, and related communications for as long as reasonably necessary to run the pilot, follow up on the relationship, maintain internal records, and comply with legal obligations.

Unless a longer retention period is required, we generally aim to delete or anonymize pilot submission records no later than 24 months after the last meaningful interaction. If you become a paying customer, retention may instead be governed by a separate commercial agreement.

International Transfers

Smolde and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own. If you submit information from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information in our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your personal information, or to object to certain processing.

To make a privacy request, contact us at privacy@smolde.com. We may ask for reasonable verification before acting on your request.

Children's Privacy

Smolde is intended for business users and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
